Stress is part of life. We all have a level of stress in our daily lives and you need some to energise you to get on doing things. Stress is good in short bursts and for a curtailed amount of time. When you are stressed most of the time, this can wear you down and cause other issues as your body protests.
Here are some tips to help you reduce your stress on a day to day basis:
Having people around you that are happy and cheerful will encourage that to rub off on you. Conversely having people who are negative and toxic adds to your stress levels.
2. Will this matter in a year?
Sometimes we stress about things that in the fullness of time would not matter. Learn to cherry pick what causes you angst.
3. Outsource.
Can you get someone else to do some things for you? Do you find having a dirty house causes you stress? Could you afford a cleaner once a month instead of that takeaway?
Actionable Steps:
1. Who is the happiest person you know? What is it that makes them happy? Can you emulate them?
2. Do you have a bedtime routine? Sleep is imperative in reducing stress
3. Do you have a morning routine? Having structure helps reduce your stress levels
